Trying On a Tiny Human Outfit

Recently, my cat mom experienced a wave of creative energy and surprised me with this. It’s a matching crop top and pleated skirt that are just my size!

Wow, that’s for me? 💖 So cute!

I’ve never worn clothes like this before. I don’t know if they’ll be something I wear all of the time, for special occasions, or just right meow—when I’m trying them on for the first time!

Earlier this year my cat mom got, both me and my brother, very cute holiday sweaters. We tried them on, but they made us feel too hot and constricted to wear again. I’m excited to try something on that’s made with a more lightweight fabric, and less restrictive design!

Before sewing my outfit, my cat mom showed me different types of fabric and told me to pick my favorite. She also used the tape measure to take my measurements, so it’d be just my size. I had a lot of fun during this step and showed off my fierce snake hunting skills before I realized it wasn’t a predator, or a cat toy, but was actually my cat mom’s crafting tool.

I’ll post a full tutorial on how my cat mom made this cute outfit for me very soon, in case you want to make an outfit for your own cats at home! Now it’s time for me to try this on…

Trying on my crop top and skirt!

I tried on the outfit! Even though it’s very cute, I don’t think I’ll be wearing the pleated skirt again, but the shirt I can see myself wearing again for some special occasions. It also can be worn two ways, snapped on the back or at the front, and I like the versatility.

Here are some pictures of me in my outfit since I’ll probably wear it rarely, but even I can admit, I do look cute in a crop top and pleated skirt.

I tried it, and it’s not for me!

Like I mentioned earlier, I’ll be posting a full tutorial soon on how my cat mom made me this outfit, in addition to how to make your very own crop top and pleated skirt, to match your cat’s! If this is your first time reading, I’m a cute orange cat who loves all things lifestyle.

How to Make Cold Brew

Every morning, before we make our bed, or water our plants, or do anything else— my cat mom goes to the kitchen, and makes a strange beverage that is for humans and not for cats. It is called coffee.

My cat mom and dad don’t just make it in the morning, they love coffee all of the time! My cat mom likes it hot, but my cat dad likes it cold and with ice cubes. Sometimes, we make him a special type of iced coffee, called cold brew! Today I will teach you how to make your own cold brew at home.

The reason cold brew is different than other types of iced coffee is because you never use hot water during the brew process and only use cold water—which can cut down its acidity by up to 67% depending on how it’s brewed.

Which brings me to my next point—there are so many different ways you can make cold brew! Since my cat parents drink so much coffee, they got a cold brewing system that lets them make a huge batch at once. There are lots of name brand options for these, from companies like Bodum and Toddy, but you can make high quality cold brew in a mason jar, a pitcher, a French Press, or just about any liquid holding container with a lid.

No matter what container you’re making your cold brew in, the over all process of cold brewing will be the same!

The basic steps of cold brewing:

  • Step 1: Have your cat mom or dad grind coffee beans coarsely and put in your container. (This sound scares me so mine try to do it when I’m not around.)
  • Step 2: Fill with the appropriate amount of COLD water and make sure all grounds are saturated.
  • Step 3: Place in refrigerator and let brew for 12-24 hours.
  • Step 4: Remove the grounds.
  • Step 5: Dilute with water and add ice, then enjoy!

Everything you do for this recipe will depend on the container you choose to make your cold brew in, how much concentrate you want to make, and how strong you want your extraction to be!

Like I said earlier, my cat parents have a cold brewing system that lets them make a big, 12 cup batch at once. Once it’s brewed and the grounds are removed, the concentrate can last up to 2 weeks refrigerated!

To make 12 cups, it takes 163 grams of ground coffee. So that’s about 14 grams per cup if you want to make a smaller batch. Make sure that they are coarse, because beans ground too fine can cause over extraction and bitterness!

Put the grounds in your container and add COLD water! Make sure that all of the grounds are thoroughly saturated and then cover and place in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours. My cat parents love strong coffee, so they always let it sit the full 24!

Now that your cold brew is done brewing, you will need to remove your grounds. There are many different ways to do this and each cold brew method is different. Some of my cat mom’s favorite ways are straining with cheese cloth, using a reusable coffee filter, or pressing with a French press!

Once the grounds are gone, your cold brew concentrate is ready to be diluted and enjoyed by the humans you love!

To dilute the cold brew concentrate to make cold brew iced coffee, simply mix either equal parts or 1/3 concentrate and 2/3 water, depending on how strong you like your coffee, and serve over ice. You can also use this cold brew concentrate as an espresso alternative for homemade faux iced lattes. To do this, simply dilute with your choice of milk instead of water, and serve over ice.

I know this recipe makes my cat parents happy and makes their mornings better, and hope that you love the cold brew you make!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your week goes purrr-fectly!
